Hosting Catholic Charities

Thanks be to God for a Blessed and Holy Thursday at our fine Church, Saint Joseph of the Holy Family here in West Harlem. We were able to host Catholic Charities of the New York Archdiocese with a special guest, our Archbishop, Cardinal Timothy Dolan along with many dignitaries from our parish as well as our Catholic Archdiocese.

Cardinal Dolan’s presence and blessings were so powerful. Cardinal Dolan spoke, prayed with us, and joined us alongside Catholic Charities to distribute food to our needy families. A special thanks to Msgr. Kevin Sullivan, the Executive Director of Catholic Charities whose words reminded us that Jesus would have it no other way but to look out for and take care of the needy amongst us.  Another special thanks goes to Msgr. Joseph LaMorte who graced us with his presence and support as the Vicar of the Archdiocese of New York.

Most importantly, let me make mention of our Director of the Food Pantry, Mary Mussali, and her faithful and loving volunteers. They presented food to our visitors – which is what we do bi-monthly for those in need in our area.  As Administrator, I am blessed to be a part of such a diverse parish of kind, loving and giving people! Yes, blessed!  On this Holy Thursday, a Feast Day for all Priests, I bless you and thank you!
